The Post Building.
CDC Engineering designed, manufactured and installed two bespoke contemporary spiral staircases at The Post Building in London, working alongside BW Interiors and architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM).
The staircases are located on the 8th floor and were designed as a prominent architectural feature within the building’s contemporary interior.
The project comprised two matching spiral staircases, positioned to mirror one another within the space.
One staircase follows a clockwise spiral, while the second rises anticlockwise, creating a balanced and distinctive arrangement.
As bespoke staircases, each element had to be carefully coordinated from design through to fabrication and installation to achieve the required geometry and fit within the building.

The combination of these materials creates a modern finish while retaining the practical requirements of a working staircase.
Following the design stage, CDC Engineering manufactured the staircase components in-house, using precision fabrication and welding to achieve the required dimensions and geometry.
Installation then took place on the 8th floor, requiring careful coordination with BW Interiors and other trades working within the finished interior.
The bespoke nature and opposing orientation of the two staircases made accuracy throughout the manufacturing and installation process particularly important.
