CDC Engineering was commissioned by DesignLSM to manufacture and install a bespoke package of architectural metalwork and interior features for the newly redesigned The Ivy Kensington Brasserie, London.
The project brought together a restaurant, champagne bar, delicatessen, bakery and florist within one sophisticated interior. Our role was to turn the design team’s detailed concepts into high-quality, functional features that could withstand the demands of a busy hospitality environment while maintaining the refined aesthetic of the club.
From a statement champagne bar and brass wine gantry to bespoke entrance doors, furniture and florist displays, every element was individually manufactured to suit the space.
Working closely with DesignLSM throughout the project, our fabrication team combined traditional craftsmanship with precision manufacturing to produce a collection of bespoke elements using a range of premium materials.
One of the key features of the brasserie is the bespoke champagne bar, combining Marquina marble, brass detailing and a profiled pewter countertop.
CDC Engineering manufactured the supporting structure and integrated the various materials to create a substantial feature that feels refined while remaining robust enough for demanding commercial use.
A bespoke brass wine gantry forms a prominent feature within the bar area, incorporating illuminated glass pillars to create an elegant display for the club’s wine collection.
The fabrication required careful coordination between the metalwork, glass and integrated lighting to achieve a clean and seamless finished installation.
The entrance establishes the tone of the club from the moment visitors arrive.
CDC Engineering manufactured bespoke brass entrance doors with an antique-earth finish, complete with matching architraves and signage. Detailed fabrication and finishing created a distinctive entrance feature that complements the building’s premium interior.
Our package also included bespoke restaurant tabletops, florist shelving and display fittings, designed specifically around the requirements of each area.
Although serving very different purposes, each element was manufactured to maintain the same design language throughout the restaurant, deli, bar and florist.
One of the key challenges of the project was bringing together multiple premium materials while maintaining consistency across a large number of bespoke components.
Marble, brass, pewter and glass each required different fabrication and installation considerations. Our team worked closely with the design team and other trades to coordinate dimensions, interfaces and finishes before manufacture.
Particular attention was given to the structural elements behind the finished surfaces, ensuring that decorative features remained visually refined while providing the strength and durability required for a commercial environment.

Every component was produced specifically for the project rather than adapted from standard products, allowing the design team to achieve the distinctive character envisioned for the high-end restaurant.
