Holborn Gate

330 Holborn Gate, London

This large building underwent a full refurbishment to transform it into a modern building that still boasts a traditional style. Buckley Gray Yeoman was the architecture firm leading the design for this project.

We were contracted to supply bespoke metal work to the Holborn Gate office block. We liaised with the architects to understand the desired finish and overall décor of the building.

We manufactured the hot-rolled, black lacquered reception desk and wall features in the front house within the building. We also internally and externally cladded the entrance porticos on the north and south elevations, which are cladded in our acid-etched, dark bronze, earth finish.

Our sister company Alpine Fabrication was delighted to manufacture and install all of the bespoke FCU covers within the building, ensuring they fit in with the aesthetics of the refurbished building.

On the ground floor, our FCU covers were concealed within the reception desk frontage. We manufactured and fitted the bespoke acid-etched blackened steel reception desk and wall claddings on the ground floor area.

Other aspects that CDC Engineering manufactured included the North and South Main entrance porticos, which were created using aged bronze finished materials. We also manufactured and fitted the cladding on the fire doors, lift reveals, and various bronzed signage and handrails in this area.

On the upper floors, the FCU covers were flush-mounted in between the window upright supports with front and bottom air intakes. The front panels are easily removable for maintenance and cleaning purposes. These were finished in a satin black matching the window trims, continuing the modern feeling of the building.

This was a very rewarding project to be involved with due to the different metal finishes that we manufactured in-house for the client. These were incorporated throughout the building in other aspects of work that we were involved with.
